About

In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.

The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.

The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.

Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.

The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.

The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Estudi08014 és una pràctica fundada l’any 2014 a Barcelona, co-dirigida per Adrià Guardiet (ETSAB, 2010) i Sandra Torres (ETSAB, 2009. Màster en Rehabilitació ETSAB, 2012), dedicada al desenvolupament de projectes d’edificació, espai públic i instal·lacions efímeres.

Estudi08014 desenvolupa una arquitectura deliberadament anti-especialitzada i trans-escalar, que inclou des de projectes de gran escala per a l'Administració Pública fins a petits encàrrecs privats.

Els membres de l’estudi alternen l’exercici professional amb la participació en diferents espais de reflexió entorn de l'arquitectura, la publicació periòdica en revistes i blogs especialitzats i la col·laboració ocasional en tasques docents.

L'estudi ha estat reconegut en diferents certàmens d’arquitectura d’àmbit local i internacional, entre els quals destaquen finalista als Premis FAD 2020, premiat als Premis AJAC XI, catalogat a les biennals Arquia Próxima V i VI, 1er premi Europan 12, 2on premi Europan 13, premiat a la 8a Mostra d’Arquitectura Catalana, Premi Ciutat de Terrassa a la Millora del Paisatge Urbà, entre d’altres.
L'obra d'Estudi08014 ha estat àmpliament difosa en revistes, catàlegs i plataformes digitals, així com exposada a nivell local i internacional a través de mostres i ponències individuals i col·lectives.

    Projecte de transformació d'un local de 26x10m situat a la planta baixa d'una casa de cós del barri de Ca n'Aurell de Terrassa, l'eixample més antic de la ciutat, molt proper al casc històric. L'edifici data de 1.925 i en destaca la seva estructura de formigó armat, molt innovadora per l'època, que salva llums de fins a 10m. Tanmateix, les successives transformacions del local al llarg dels anys han anat ocultant l'estructura original rere una superposició caòtica d'envans, falsos sostres i revestiments diversos. Se'ns demana segregar l'espai en dos locals amb accessos independents. El principal, d'uns 180m2, és un 'coworking' de professionals de la psicologia que conté, per una banda, un àmbit amb consultes privades i, per l'altra, un espai diàfan on desenvolupar activitats per a grups: tallers, conferències, exposicions, etc. El segon local, d'uns 50m2, és per llogar. La intervenció s'estructura en quatre àmbits. El primer és un 'espai intermedi' sense un ús específic: superfície cedida a la ciutat. El segon és un espai diàfan i polivalent. El tercer és una zona de serveis que resol la transició entre les parts pública i privada del programa. El quart, situat al fons del local, és la zona de consultes: set despatxos organitzats entorn d'un espai central que els hi aporta llum i ventilació natural. L'estratègia material/energètica es basa en desvelar la materialitat dels elements constructius originals, fer arribar llum natural a totes les estances a través de targes vidrades i millorar el comportament bioclimàtic del local mitjançant la creació d'espais tampó i l'evacuació de l'aire calent a través del lluernari.
