In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Residència per a Gent Gran Mas Catofa

Equipament integrat (CAP per a 10.000 usuaris i centre d’avis), situat en una ampliació (M. Madrid, 1983) del remot barri obrer dels Germans Sàbat (1954-72). La dualitat d’usos s’hi articula per un sol accés, la qualitat del qual es reforça amb la petita plaça exterior. Malgrat que es va construir en dues fases i el porxo superior va quedar desfigurat, l’obra evidencia una potència tranquil·la i té la capacitat d’ordenar un entorn desestructurat. A fora, passera d’Almeda i Eiffel, recol·locada aquí per C. Lloret (1994). -
Centre Cívic Santa Eugènia

Una torre exempta (s. xv) genera per addició un dels masos forts més significats de l’entorn de la ciutat, amb un moment especialment notable a l’inici del s. xvii (pel risc del bandolerisme rural) i diverses reformes posteriors. La sala principal, del 1547, i l’ennobliment de la torre, del 1571, es deuen a la nissaga dels Ferrer, moliners establerts ran de la séquia Monar. Fou masoveria del s. xvii al xx. La porta dovellada, amb una imatge gòtica de santa Eugènia, i les finestres renaixentistes de la torre són les peces més treballades. Encarats amb una conservació deficient, els autors projecten el nou centre cívic veïnal sense buscar un estat original siscentista, sinó valorant-hi les addicions segons llur qualitat i convertint-lo així en un nou estrat de l’evolució del conjunt. A banda de donar més esveltesa a la torre i crear la porxada interior, la decisió fonamental és el cobriment del pati. Just al nord, sobre la séquia Monar, se situa la fàbrica tèxtil Marfà, objecte d’un concurs per a un centre cultural (2007) que fou guanyat per P. J. Ravetllat, C. Ribas i O. Schmid. -
Centre d'Atenció Especial Llar Oxalis

Bastida per una fundació (Llars Cheshire, 1968, amb vincles paneuropeus) i concertada amb fons públics, té cura d’afectats (36) de paràlisi cerebral amb caràcter permanent i d’altres necessitats de programa diürn (20). El projecte allarga un cos lineal en el qual queden seriats els dormitoris, opacs al vial nord i oberts al jardí domèstic del sud, amb logística a la planta superior i equipament en semisoterrani. Quan assoleix l’entorn obert i vegetal del Ter, desplega un ventall de cuina, menjador, sala i tallers que s’aboquen també a la visió de la ciutat. Amb poca estridència, el revestiment d’estuc i pedra i l’ordre de finestrals semblen bastar per a una definició purament geomètrica.
