About
In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

La urbanització d'aquest club de golf era poc habitual en el nostre país. El tamany dels solars era acceptable. La gespa dels "carrers" del camp s'estenia sense interrupció pels jardins sense estacades dels xalets veïns. Vam decidir seguir els suggeriments que aquest entorn insòlit aportava.
Al jardí continuava la gespa del golf. Plantaríem més alzines i pins com els que cobreixen les muntanyes veïnes. Només hi introduiríem una fila regular d'arbres de fulla caduca enfront de la façana de sol, dos pollancres i algunes flors als patis triangulars, i dos llorers magnifics per donar una mica d'intimitat a l'entrada. Una glorieta al límit del solar, lligada al mur de contenció, seria coberta amb una glicínia.
La casa i la piscina, amb el seu annex, serien com una sèrie de rectangles simples de construcció tradicional. La manera de maclar aquests elements ens permetria adaptar-nos al terreny i crear uns espais oberts protegits del vent i de les vistes del carrer.
Els materials emprats són: murs de càrrega de doble paret de 15 cms. de maó vist pintat de blanc a I'exterior i a I'interior; cercol de formigó vist formant jàsseres; rajola manual sense pintar en les pilastres exteriors; paviment interior de ceràmica vidriada; paviment exterior de pedra irregular de Banyoles; escales exteriors del mateix material; escales interiors en fusta de freixe; fusteria exterior amb corredores d'alumini; fusteria interior de fusta; coberta inclinada de bigues pretensades; cel ras encadellat de fusta de Flandes; teules arabs antigues; volada formada per plaques de formigó; claraboies amb teula de vidre a I'exterior i vidre opali a l'interior, amb il.luminació artificial entre ambdues.

Al jardí de la casa-club continua la gespa del camp. S’hi han plantat més alzines i pins, com els que cobreixen les muntanyes veïnes. S’hi ha introduït una filera regular d’arbres de fulla caduca davant la façana al sud, dos pollancres i algunes flors als patis triangulars, a més de dos llorers per donar una mica d’intimitat a l’entrada. Una glorieta al límit del solar, adossada al mur de contenció, queda coberta amb una glicina. La casa i la piscina, amb el seu annex, han estat concebudes com una sèrie de caixes simples fetes amb construcció tradicional. La manera de maclar aquests elements permet una millor adaptació al terreny i la creació d’uns espais oberts protegits del vent i de les vistes del carrer.
