Sala l'Odeón i Casa Artau
Promoció d’uns mestres d’obra i empresaris, després nissaga d’acadèmics, amb una secció singular del conjunt: sala de ball de gran volum al dessota i habitatge luxós a la planta principal, amb enormes golfes de fusta. La sala, avui desfigurada, descansa sobre pilars de fosa i estén gelosies d’acer de la casa Eiffel, llavors en actiu a Girona per al ferrocarril; consta d’escenari i llotges perimetrals sobre pilarets secundaris, i no s’hi ha conservat el gran cel ras original. Les decoracions de façana són un delicat i eclèctic treball en pedra artificial.1857 - 1897

Sala Zeleste

883. The entire premises had to be refurbished in order to bring it into line with safety regulations, improve its acoustic conditions and reinforce its structure, which was almost in ruins. An integrative solution was chosen, one that shifted the former attributes of the venue in scale. The warm glow of alabaster was replaced by glass-block windows that cast a misty, cold light; the luxurious velvet curtains were exchanged for heavy industrial doors; the old wooden bar counter was replaced with grey tiles; the vestibule space was turned into a breakfast bar; cosy corners gave way to open areas; attention to detail was replaced by attention to the whole. The monolithic quality of all these elements is what defines them. The different materials that make up the spatial sequence create an analogous language, similar to the dissection of the word Zeleste.1973
