In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Dispensari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya
Gabriel Amat Pagés, Antoni Fisas i Planas
Complex hospitalari amb planta en forma de H situat al barri de la Salut, molt a prop del Parc Güell i just davant del santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya. L'edifici original és el cos de migdia, consta de semisoterrani, planta baixa, quatre pisos i coberta plana. Tota la part central de la façana sobresurt a mode de gran tribuna amb els angles arrodonits, i als extrems sobresurten uns cossos rectangulars com si fossin dos torres unides al cos principal. Tota la façana s'estructura a partir d'uns eixos longitudinals i horitzontals on s'obren les obertures rectangulars i sense cap decoració; les finestres de la tribuna son corregudes i les que es situen als angles segueixen la curvatura del mur. Tot el parament és llis sense cap element ornamental. Els altres cossos que formen la H tenen característiques similars a aquest amb una retícula d'eixos verticals i horitzontals on s'obren les finestres marcant un ritme regular. Els paraments són llisos sense decoració. En els extrems dels edificis s'han afegits uns volums estrets i més alts que els cossos on es recolzen. Aquests estan recoberts de plaques negres i vidre i serveixen com a reforç als serveis de l'hospital. L'edifici es un primer moment va ser un encàrrec del Dr. Isidre Borguñà i Porta, fundador de l'Associació ginecològica de Barcelona, com a centre de salut. La obra va ser una col·laboració entre els arquitectes Antoni Fisas Planas i Gabriel Amat i Pagès. Durant la construcció el projecte va fer fallida i el va adquirir l'Ajuntament per instal·lar l'Hospital de l'Esperança, el qual fins llavors formava part de l'Hospital Municipal per a Infecciosos i estava destinat als malalts incurables. Al 1951 es van iniciar les obres d'ampliació que van convertir en el conjunt en forma de H que és actualment. Aquesta vegada només va intervenir Antoni Fisas. Al 1975 es va convertir en asil per a gent gran però al 1977 es transforma en un hospital general. Actualment forma part del Parc de Salut MAR i està especialitzat en l'atenció quirúrgica.
