In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Restauració de la Façana de la Seu del Bisbat de Girona
Si la precedent casa X ammar havia unit tres cases en un sol immoble del gòtictardà, la reforma del 1767 va donar lloc a un gran palau neoclàssic, tal com pretenien els nous (1737) nobles Carles. Pel seu fur únic de residència reial, va acollir tota la reialesa castellana i europea que visitava la ciutat. Llegada a la diòcesi (1934) per a ús vinculant de seminari, fou dedicada a museu fins al 1974. D’ençà de la intensa intervenció contemporània, acull diversos serveis del Bisbat. Del pati anterior, parcialment porticat, n’arrenca una escala que arriba a la planta noble, amb sala del tron, rebedor, cambra reial i menjador destruïts en part el 1936. La restauració de la façana, amb dotze grans finestrals i balcons, va suscitar una controvèrsia recurrent sobre l’estucat amb carejament incomplet. -
Planejament del Conjunt Residencial “Els Químics”
Per envoltar l’operació d’Els Químics, i hereves de la traça de Rossi però ja no d’aquella radical visió de la tipologia col·lectiva, 5 torres de 7 plantes amb habitatges d’uns 75 m2, alçades sobre lots d’uns limitats 650 m2, desgranen versions que els autors fan del tema de la torre petita, un tipus poc present a la ciutat. La disposició en planta —amb la seva repercussió sobre la gestació del volum— i els matisos de protecció solar, color i joc d’obertures elaboren variants d’encàrrecs semblants i d’un planejament unívoc. -
Centre Cívic Coro de Sarrià
El treball de Masó sobre aquesta peça neoclàssica manca dels ingredients i les característiques projectuals de les seves obres coetànies i lliga més amb l’estima professional per l’estil existent i per un encàrrec procedent del món cooperatiu (Ateneu-Orfeó Joventut) com és ara la més treballada cooperativa de Canet de Mar (1920-24). La rehabilitació de Bover en permet l’ús com a centre cívic per a la gent gran i incorpora l’edifici industrial veí.
