About

In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.

The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.

The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.

Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.

The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.

The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Activitat docent: 1981-90 professor col·laborador a la càtedra d’Arquitectura del Paisatge (ETSAB), d’Elías Torres Tur. 1997-2002 professor del Taller d'Arquitectura del Paisatge del Màster d’Arquitectura del Paisatge UPC, Taller: “Elements de disseny en els espais del paisatge.

Col·laboració amb arquitectes durant la formació:
1983-84, Elías Torres Tur i José Antonio Martínez Lapeña, en els projectes: Escala Castell d’Eivissa i Ses Voltes, muralles de Palma. 1984-87, José Llinás Carmona, mentre finalitzava el projecte final de carrera del “Far de Cap de Creus”.

Treball a l’Administració Pública,
1988 Anella Olímpica de Montjuic S.A, redacció dels projectes i seguiment d’obres de sectors del Parc del Migdia a Montjuïc per als Jocs Olímpics 1992.
1988 Ajuntament de Barcelona, seleccionat en concurs públic del Sector d’Urbanisme com arquitecte redactor del Servei de Projectes Urbans.
1990 arquitecte funcionari de carrera de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona destinat al Districte de Sants-Montjuïc, que fins el 1996 va compaginar amb treballs per a Projectes Urbans, principalment, en la redacció d’executius i direcció d’obra del Parc de Canyelles, que s’havia iniciat al 1988.

Treball professional, 1987-2005, forma equip amb l’arquitecte Armand Fernández Prat, els treballs més destacats: 1989-93 Restauració de la façana i rehabilitació de l’àtic de la casa Ximenis a Tarragona obra de JM. Jujol. 1991-92 Pavelló de garatge i serveis, piscina, habitatge servei i enjardinament de finca a Sant Just Desvern. 2002-05 Habitatge unifamiliar i jardí a Matadepera.

Premis
1994 Primer premi a la millor solució viària del concurs de idees per al nou accés al Parc Natural del Montseny.
1996 "I Premi Joves Arquitectes" coincidint amb l’UIA Barcelona 96 per l´obra: Pavelló de garatge i serveis per a un jardí.
1997 Segon premi del concurs Ajac del projecte d’escola Primària a Riudecols (Tarragona).
