In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Isabel Steva Hernández, més coneguda com a "Colita", (Barcelona, 1940) déu aquest nom al seu pare, qui li va explicar que havia nascut sota una col, com a tants nens de la seva època. Dona de "armas tomar", ha seguit la petjada de la seva ciutat i dels qui l'han fet el que és: Barcelona, la seva estimada, la seva amiga, el plató on gent de tota condició i gènere han estat objectiu de la seva mirada. Des dels seus inicis s'apropa a mestres tan importants com Oriol Maspons, Xavier Miserachs, Francesc Català Roca, Leopoldo Pomés... quins, a més de companys de professió, acabaran sent amics. Durant els seus inicis i de la mà del seu mentor i amic Paco Rebés, es va apropar al món gitano del Somorrostro i Montjuïc, al Flamenc, al Barrio Chino de Barcelona, a Les Rambles, a l'arquitectura de la ciutat i de quins la volien explicar: Ana María Moix i Terenci, Alexandre Cirici, Josep Maria Carandell, Jaime Gil de Biedma, Juan Marsé...
Amiga dels seus amics, no va dubtar en engrossir la seva llista amb tota la gent, que passat el temps, han estat protagonistes d'aquesta ciutat i de la seva història. El seu instint, la seva curiositat i el seu esperit periodístic han fet que la seva galeria de retrats sigui immensa i, en molts casos, desconeguda. Personatges que van des d'Ocaña a Gabriel García Márquez, de Maria Aurèlia Capmany a Joan Miró, de Salvador Dalí a la Bella Dorita, d'Orson Welles a Carmen Amaya...
Colita ha participat i retratat moviments com la "Gauche Divine", l"Escola de Barcelona" o la "Nova Cançó". Ha col·laborat amb publicacions com Interviu, Fotogramas, Cuadernos para el diálogo, Telexprés etc. Treballadora infatigable, amb les seves càmeres coll avall va sortir al carrer, comprenent que la transició democràtica era un moment irrepetible del qual s'havia de deixar constància gràfica: el tancament de Montserrat, la mort d'en Franco, les manifestacions polítiques... i com sempre, implicant-se de valent en el feminisme i en la reivindicació de qualsevol dret relacionat amb la llibertat amb majúscules.
En els seus quaranta anys de professió, ha realitzat més de quaranta exposicions i publicat més de trenta llibres de fotografia. La seva obra es troba a col·leccions com el Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) o el Museu Reina Sofía (MNCARS). Entre altres premis, li ha estat atorgada la Medalla d'Or al Mèrit Artístic de l'Ajuntament de Barcelona, Doctora Honoris Causa per la Universitat de Bellaterra , la Creu de Sant Jordi, Premi Nacional de Fotografia 2014, Premi Bartolomé Ros, Mestre del FAD 2017 i Medalla d’Or al mèrit en les Belles Arts l’any 2021.
